Ruin Echoes Exhibition

Information
More about this activity

Ove the next four months Konschthal Esch will host Ruin Echoes an exhibition bringing together European and international artists around a universal theme: the ruin.

The show proposes to explore what ruins tell us about our societies, our memories, and their transformations. Through films, sculptures, installations, and photographs, Ruin Echoes invites visitors to observe the traces left behind, but also to imagine what can be born from what has disappeared or transformed.

Here a ruin is not an end and can become the starting point for new narratives and new imaginations. That’s why exhibition shares its opening launch on the 23 October alongside the venue’s dedicated Project Room latest work: Graue Strömung (Hydro) by artist Marta Dyachenko.

Dyachenko’s project takes the local Alzette river as a starting point to explore spatial structures, soil, iron, concrete, and water; it zeroes in on local, material, and hydrological traces, perfectly echoing the larger exhibition’s meditation on what physical remnants and transformations reveal about our societies.
