Sustainable Esch

In the field of environmental and social sustainability, as well as achieving the highest scoring of certification (Gold Award) for the innovative measures adopted to respond to climate change, the city is leading with initiatives on many fronts: from food security to the circular economy via a Transition incubator, and the first eco-village in Luxembourg. But that’s not all — if you come to Esch you will be able to take part in innovative activities that are aimed at counteracting climate change.

Actions range from the establishment of allotments, to learning to make objects and furniture with discarded materials, and include playing games such as the Climate Fresk and the escape game created by the team developed by the university of Rotterdam and adapted by the ECoC team, which is focused on questions around how players would tackle the issues of overproduction and overconsumption.
