Summer in the Library
The Esch-sur-Alzette Municipal Library (BESA) is one of Luxembourg’s oldest municipal libraries. Established in 1892 as a school library, it officially became the municipal library of the City of Esch-sur-Alzette in 1919/1920. Since 1946, it has been housed in its current location on Rue Emile Mayrisch—a setting that continues to welcome readers to this day.
Today, the library offers a rich selection of books and media in more than ten languages. There’s also a story time and a reading club specially designed for children.
All of this is housed in an elegant, historic building full of character and charm. Open throughout the summer, the library welcomes both locals and visitors alike.
Relax with a good book on our terrace or in the peaceful garden.
