From May to September 2024, Esch will host its very first Cultural Biennale under the title « Architectures”; a five-month-long celebration of the cultural richness of the city through the works of international and Luxembourgish artists. This Biennale is part of the city’s cultural transformation under the label « Esch Capitale Culturelle, » thus honoring its title as the European Capital of Culture 2022.
The Biennale will open on May 17th 2024 with the night-time show Reesch E’vol, a spectacular mix of contemporary art and circus. On Saturday May 18 Esch will be transformed into an immense playground with a dizzying circus course. The epic finale on the 28 and 29 September, will be marked by the revival of the musical comedy SL’ESCH. Saturday 28 will be Gala Night, with dances held in the open air around the city centre.
