Esch-sur-Alzette is one of Luxembourg’s most diverse cities, with over 120 nationalities shaping its neighborhoods, cultural life, and festivals. Each autumn, alongside events marking Black History Month, the city hosts its renowned Fête Culinaire Interculturelle which honours the local cultural diversity by promoting intercultural togetherness through encounters centres on world cuisines.
This year’s festival, taking place on Saturday 11 October at Place de l’Hôtel de Ville, will be held under a large marquee, bringing together associations from diverse backgrounds to serve freshly prepared specialties. Shared tables and benches will create a warm, welcoming atmosphere where visitors can savour dishes from around the world while enjoying live music and dance that showcase the cultural richness of Esch’s communities.
In the morning, as part of Esch’s Intercultural Togetherness Pact, you are invited to its very first Intercultural Citizen’s Apéro, a friendly gathering to welcome and guide new residents. In the spirit of an informal get-together, drinks, coffee, and light snacks will be offered to participants.
