Minett is the name given to this region of south Luxembourg. Minett is the beating heart of the country’s industrial past with a land that is still red due to the ore, the precious material which was once mined here. Today, one way of experiencing the new life and biodiversity of this fascinating region is to take a walk along the Minett Trail. This 90-km hiking trail is divided into 10 stages. You can walk through small villages, or experience how the steel industry has shaped urban areas in larger cities, right up to peaceful nature, surrounded by water and animals.
For those who choose to stay overnight there is a surprise in store. From Spring 2022 you can stay in one of 11 extraordinary cottages, the « Kabaisercher ». These smart hotels were designed by 11 different architects either by renovating derelict buildings or by constructing new eco structures. So, don’t forget to book your accommodation!
