More about this activity

This iconic footbridge located in the green spaces of the Gaalgebierg Park hilltop was constructed in 2008 to a design by Ney & Partners engineers, together with Metaform architects. Here the purity of the design is reflected in the use of only essential materials. The structure of the entire bridge is made of a smooth steel surface painted light grey on the outside to accentuate the movement of the lines, and iron oxide red on the inside to reference the red earth of the Minett region. Well-loved and well used by the people of Esch, the Passerelle is the “red path” that introduces a change of tempo for the pedestrian who goes from the public space of the city to the green oasis of the park. By the way, the footbridge is equipped with a lift to facilitate access for people with reduced mobility, and also for families with prams.
