More about this activity

As you arrive in Belval, you can see, in the distance, a sunflower-yellow building whose undulating shape interacts with the curved topography of this former Luxembourg mining area. Its colour – called ‘construction-site-yellow’ pays homage to the working-class world.
This quirky 400m2 building, designed by Luxembourg-based Polaris Architects, welcomes not only young audiences and their families to learn about the history and heritage of this former industrial part of Esch, but also more generally aims to cultivate culture, and to this end it includes a studio for workshops, games and books available for consultation, as well as dedicated spaces where young users can give free reign to their creativity. By the way, the name comes from the carts that in the past transported iron ore up an inclined lift for loading into the blast furnace.
