Galerie Schlassgoart is proud to present a solo exhibition by celebrated Luxembourgish artist Moritz Ney, tracing a creative journey that spans more than five decades.
Born in 1947 in Pétange, Ney’s path to becoming an artist was anything but traditional. After a stint in the Luxembourg army and a brief career in customs, Ney turned decisively toward the world of art. His early years were shaped by formative experiences in the studio of sculptor Aurelio Sabbatini and at the Staatliche Werkkunstschule in Trier (Germany). A chance turn of events led him to work closely with artist Albrecht Klauer-Simonis, before advancing to the prestigious Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Karlsruhe (Germany). Moritz Ney has built a compelling, multidisciplinary body of work that resonates across borders. Since 2019, he has lived and worked between Luxembourg and Belgium, continuing to push the boundaries of his artistic expression.
This exhibition offers a rare opportunity to explore the evolution of Ney’s artistic language—from early influences to recent explorations.
