Founded in 2019, the CNCI – National Centre for Industrial Culture promotes Luxembourg’s industrial heritage. Beyond preserving historic industrial buildings — the so-called third places — the CNCI develops innovative and creative ways to give them new life.
Esch-Belval abounds with these “iron cathedrals,” witnesses to the steel industry’s legacy, the social struggles it inspired, and the transformation of the Minette region from rural land to industrial powerhouse.
This autumn, the Centre presents an exclusive exhibition devoted to the photographic work of Marcel Bouschet. Through his lens, Bouschet captures the traces of the past, the signs of the present, and the outlines of a future in the making. His humanistic gaze both questions and reveals, inviting reflection on transmission, disappearance, and resilience in places shaped by industry.
A visual testimony to a territory in transition, the series unveils the coexistence of workers’ memory and technical heritage within a re-emerging landscape.
Open daily (except Tuesdays) from 10:00 to 19:00 until the 30 November 2025.
